SELF HYPNOSIS FOR CANCER PATIENTS

Several studies have shown that Hypnosis and Self-Hypnosis can help to double the life-expectancy of cancer patients! The most famous study was by David Spiegel, MD, of Stanford University whose ground-breaking study found that patients who were trained in self-hypnosis and took part in support groups survived twice as long as expected.

Based on five years experience as a volunteer teaching self-hypnosis to cancer patients at the Wellness Community in San Diego and working with cancer patients in his private practice, Lee Overholser. Ph.D., has developed a set of six self-hypnosis sessions that can be of great help to those who are fighting against the disease.

These CDs enable the listener to:

CD #1 Learning Self-Hypnosis
The first CD in the series introduces you to the power of self-hypnosis and the mind-body connection. Each self-hypnosis session is preceded by a discussion of the topic, such as the mind-body connection, by Dr. Overholser.

CD #2 The Feeling of Healing
This CD helps you identify the feelings of healing and has a session on controlling side-effects. Research shows that self-hypnosis is as effective in controlling side-effects of chemotherapy and radiation as traditional medicines.

CD #3 Applied Healing
The last CD in the series helps you connect with and empower your immune system. There is also a self-hypnosis session in which you decide on the goals and suggestions. In that way you can apply self-hypnosis to a broad range of challenges in your life.

These 3 Self-Hypnosis CDs for Cancer are accompanied by the booklet, Self-Hypnosis for Cancer Patients. This set can be a valued gift to a friend or family member who is dealing with cancer.

One of Dr Overholser's clients, Barbara, was unable to begin chemotherapy due to accumulation of fluid in her lung. All traditional attempts to drain the fluid were ineffective. After one self-hypnosis session her lung began to drain and in two weeks she began therapy.

Another patient, Teri, had a very low white blood cell count. With just two sessions of self-hypnosis she was able to bring her white blood cell count back to normal.

These CDs are to be used as a complement to the cancer therapy a patient is receiving and are not offered as a cure or cancer treatment. It is also recommended that patients take part in a support group such as those offered by hospitals or other groups.
